An "open shift" is a shift on the schedule with nobody assigned to it. Usually it's there because somebody called out, you opened it deliberately to fill, or you imported a draft and haven't decided who's working it yet.

How the marketplace fills it

When you mark a shift as open (or auto-mark it via a callout), we send offers to your best-fit team members in three waves:

  1. 1
  2. Wave 1 — top 3 candidates based on availability, position match, and recent hours. They have 30 minutes to claim.
  • 2
  • Wave 2 — next 5 candidates. Another 30 minutes.
